The new face of Yokohama
The fun of drawing
Walking together with local people

Area Management Department

January 2024 Mid-career hire / MS

He strongly sympathized with the vision of K Arena Yokohama and decided to join the company, convinced that it was an environment where he could take on the world in urban development and entertainment.

What kind of work are you in charge of?

The Area Management Department works with Yokohama City and local businesses and organizations to promote urban development and the facility's public relations and PR. K Arena Yokohama's Music Terrace, where it is located, is a prominent entertainment-focused area, and we are actively involved in the development and implementation of Yokohama City's urban zoning rules. K Arena Yokohama achieved second place in the world arena attendance rankings within a year of its opening. It has earned high praise from many customers for its exceptional experiences, including its high acoustic quality and Arena Bar 7 dining space. We are also working with Yokohama City to promote live music throughout the city, contributing to spreading the appeal of Yokohama. Furthermore, we deepen our ties with the local community through participation in community events and cleanup activities, working together with the community to ensure that K Arena Yokohama is a place that people will say, "We're glad we built it."

Please tell us about the atmosphere of the team and the characteristics of the members.

The Area Management Department is a mature, composed team of mostly people in their 30s and 40s, half seconded from headquarters and half in-house. Many of our members are calm yet proactive, and we enjoy helping each other out and taking on new challenges. Our team leader, a veteran who originally oversaw the development of K-Arena Yokohama, still cherishes the same passion for connecting with the local community from the planning stage, and he guides us with passion and love. Event planning is also an important part of our work. For example, last year's K-Arena Theater was a huge success, as we planned to open the facility to moviegoers, working with many departments. While preparations were hectic, the post-event party was a lively event for the entire company, further strengthening our team ties. We're currently working on the development of Music Terrace and the surrounding area. We spend our days engaging in thoughtful dialogue with local residents to shape the city's future—a fulfilling experience.

What are your career plans?

In the future, I would like to continue my career while taking advantage of systems such as maternity and childcare leave, and by becoming a role model myself, I would like to be someone who can serve as an example to younger and younger employees. In particular, since our company is a workplace where many young people and female employees are active, I feel that it is meaningful to show my willingness to continue taking on challenges. Currently, I am focusing on advertising sales for arena facilities, but I am also working to develop the support advertising market. In the future, I would like to create even greater business opportunities in this growing market, which is said to be worth approximately 76.9 billion yen, while leveraging our company's strengths in unique advertising media.
My career plan is to deepen collaboration with group companies, proactively take on new advertising strategies and market development, and grow into a person who can embody our company's vision: "Continue to learn and challenge ourselves, and bring new value to live entertainment."
